Barran Liebman is honored to once again be distinguished as a Band 1 firm in the Chambers & Partners National Rankings for 2021. Each year, Chambers & Partners researchers conduct client and attorney interviews in order to identify individual attorneys and law firms who exceed qualities that are most valued by clients. This is the 19th consecutive year that Barran Liebman has received Band 1 recognition and this continued dedication to excellence makes the firm the longest ranking on the list.
In addition to the firm’s notable expertise within the Labor & Employment practice area, Barran Liebman’s efforts to lead by example are reflected in the firm’s devotion to clients, the community, and the legal profession as a whole. In this year’s rankings, a client described how Barran Liebman does “an amazing job - they do what they do super well.” Another client said that “they [Barran Liebman] always give us the information our business needs to successfully navigate through many difficult labor and employment issues.”
Paula Barran has held Band 1 recognition since 2003 and Edwin Harnden, Barran Liebman’s Co-Managing Partner, has held Band 1 recognition since 2009. This is the highest honor awarded by Chambers & Partners and Barran Liebman is proud to see these influential partners retain this honor for yet another year in a row. One client noted that Paula “has an amazing command of the law.” Another described her as “a top lawyer.” Edwin Harnden also continues to be recognized as “the consummate professional” in which “you always feel in good hands with his knowledge and confidence.” Another client enthused that “Ed provides excellent legal guidance.”
Richard Liebman once again received the “Senior Statesman” ranking for his longstanding commitment and exceptional work in the Labor & Employment practice area. According to Chambers & Partners, Rick “has gained a wealth of experience in the field of labor over his four decade long career. He continues to utilize this to the advantage of the firm’s clients.” His extensive experience has led him to maintain this ranking since 2003.
Kyle Abraham has been named by Chambers & Partners for the third year in a row, this year being named as a Band 4 attorney in the field of Labor & Employment Law. According to sources, “Kyle is outstanding. He has an in-depth knowledge of the field of public and private labor law. He is also easy to work with and his approach and attitude make it easy for people to take his advice.”
Last but not least, Barran Liebman is excited to announce that Iris Tilley has been recognized with Band 2 recognition for her work in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice area. She is known for her “wealth” of experience in the employee benefits field, including retirement plans, executive compensation, ERISA compliance, and health and welfare plans. According to sources, “She is great. Her clients really enjoy working with her and she is well regarded.”
