On Thursday, April 29, 2021, Dress for Success Oregon (“DFSO”) virtually hosted their 22nd Annual Celebrate Success Gala. In addition to members of the Barran Liebman team supporting DFSO’s largest annual fundraiser, Barran Liebman was excited to see the firm’s Executive Director Traci Ray recognized with a 2021 Athena Award.
Each year, Dress for Success Oregon recognizes womxn in the community who “like the Greek goddess Athena, model wisdom, courage, strength, and are an inspiration to the womxn [DFSO serves] and to the community at large.” This year, there were four Athena Award winners, each of who received recognition for their leadership within their respective professions, the DFSO community, and our community as a whole.
Supporting Dress for Success Oregon has been a priority for Traci over the past eight years, having served as a past Co-Chair and Board Member, volunteering to sort clothing donations at DFSO’s local headquarters, and helping coordinate the Oregon Women Lawyers Annual Fashion Show benefiting DFSO. Barran Liebman has been proud to support Traci’s involvement with DFSO over the years, and believes firmly in creating equal opportunities not only within the legal arena, but regardless of profession. As best stated by Traci as she accepted her Athena Award, “Mentorship, focused support, and genuine encouragement truly enhance one’s ability to turn dreams into reality – and together we can empower our neighbors, colleagues, and Clients at Dress for Success Oregon to reach their personal and professional goals.”
In addition to the Athena Awards ceremony and the auction/raffle in support of DFSO’s important mission, the Barran Liebman team was inspired by the personal stories shared by DFSO clients with regards to finding stability and security in their lives. Barran Liebman looks forward continuing to volunteer and support DFSO at future events and volunteer opportunities.
